The Fluke Corporation is launching a new series of thermographic cameras. P3 series is based on models of Ti32 family and this range was extended by four high class cameras. Ti27 and Ti29 may be used in the industry for checking electrical and mechanical systems as well as for process monitoring. However, TiR27 and TiR29 models are used for inspecting buildings, issuing building energy performance certificates and measurements of resistance to weather.

The MSI Conference ‘Rozwiązania IT dla nowoczesnej produkcji’ (IT Solutions for the Modern Production) was held on September 22nd in Warsaw. iPS Control also took active part. Adam Jednoróg gave a lecture on MES systems dedicated to management of production and its performance. The topic of our MES System Coordinator’s lecture ‘Podnoszenie efektywności produkcji przy wykorzystaniu istniejących systemów’ (Improving Production Efficiency Using the Existing Systems) attracted the attention of the audience and was much discussed during coffee breaks.

Siemens has found security vulnerability in the authentication mechanisms of software for programming and configuring Simatic S7 PLCs. It allowed the attacker to capture and decode the password to the device and, consequently, make unauthorized changes to its settings.

Already 17th edition of AUMATICON fair is held on 5-8 April this year. Its subject matter including industrial automation, novelties from known and less known manufacturers, suggested solutions for new automation projects, has not been changed for many years. It is noteworthy that mainly manufacturers are present while service providers are less numerous or most frequently absent.
Even so it is worth buying a ticket and going to Warsaw. The admission to the Fair is free of charge.

First part of an article: ‘Thermography and Its Application to Maintenance’ has been published in the current edition of the professional ‘Służby Utrzymania Ruchu’ (Maintenance Services) magazine.
In the article there is a lot of interesting information related to thermographic measurements in industrial plants. The authors objectively demonstrate what exactly thermography deals with, fields of its application and they describe the importance of thermography as a diagnostic tool for maintenance services.

Please be advised that from April 1st, 2011 Siemens introduced new SIMATIC HMI Comfort Panels - a new generation of units for demanding HMI tasks.
The panels are available with displays in various sizes: bright, high resolution, widescreen from 4" to 12", with touchscreen or membrane keyboard - owing to this they may be used for any application.

In the February edition of the ‘Drives and Control’ Monthly we found a short but an interesting article titled „Levelflex Ebolution Series: wyższy poziom radarów falowodowych" (‘Levelflex Ebolution Series: new standard in the field of guided-radars’). You will find there information about the new family of guided-radars. We have already integrated similar solutions when implementing automation projects for our customers. Really worth reading.
