Industrial Robots Will Help Create More Than One Million Jobs ...

International Federation of Robotics published on their webpage www.ifr.org an interesting report of research conducted by Metra Martach research company of London. The report was published on 10.11.2011 in Tokyo.

The report concerns the impact of industrial robotics on the increase in the number of jobs over the next years.

One million industrial robots currently in use in the market directly contributed to the creation of nearly 3 million new jobs. The growing number of robot applications over the next 5 years will contribute to the creation of another million new jobs all over the world including electronic, food or renewable energy industries.

The author of the report, Peter Gorle, points out three crucial areas for the use of robots:

1. applications involving hazard for humans;

2. applications using human force, but not cost-effective in countries with high labor costs;

3. applications that people are not able to perform.

Over 250 employees in automotive, electronic, food (including beverages), plastics, chemical and pharmaceutical industries participated in the research of Metra Martech company that was the basis for the report. The report focused on 6 countries: Brasil, China, Japan, South Korea and USA as the representatives of the world economy.
