Siemens introduces a new 0BA7 series of LOGO! logic modules with a built-in Ethernet communication interface. LOGO! 12/24 RCE and LOGO! 230 RCE, two new basic models with the possibility of connecting and communicating on the network expand the range of Siemens logic modules designed for more demanding applications.
The performance of new basic devices has been greatly increased, for example the memory capacity has been doubled to 400 function blocks and a wide range of new practical features has been introduced. These include macrofunctions for recurring software sequences or the functions of data registration on SI cards or directly on a PC to document and analyze the operation of an application. Up to eight new logical modules can be connected to the network by means of standard Ethernet switches. The width of the new modules with the SD card interface and Ethernet is 6MW (1MW (modular width) = 18 mm), thus 108 milimeters. The standard LOGO! modules in the 0BA6 version with the width of 4 MW will be available for sale all the time for simple applications which do not require extended communication.
