SCADA and HMI Systems
SCADA
Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition is a system for process and production control. Its principal functions include gathering the current data (measurements), their visualization, the process control, warnings and data archiving.
The term SCADA usually refers to a master computer system with control over PLCs and other equipment. Generally, the PLCs are directly connected with executive devices (valves, pumps etc.) and measurement instruments (temperature , level sensors etc.) and collect current data from the facility as well as they execute automatic control and adjustment algorithms. Via PLCs the data are transferred to the computer system and they are stored and converted into a more user friendly format. The system operators preset general process parameters or run the process manually.
HMI systems
Human Machine Interface refers to a set of devices intended for communication between an operator and a machine. Saying HMI we most frequently make a reference to various operator panels.
Designed and implemented visualization and monitoring systems enable to:
- display a system flowchart in the form of intuitive operation screens with all process equipment, tanks, conveyors, hoists, motors, valves etc.
- fully control all equipment at a facility (display of a status of the executive equipment: motors, sensors (operation, failure, opening, closing)) in the form of intuitive changes in color and graphic items
- completly and fully control faulty states via an error reporting system
- log and archive any errors
- have multilevel operator access
- have remote access via a telephone line or Internet (through VPN connection) which in turns makes it possible to have access from any remote location and also full remote service. This allows for an instant service company response.
Our SCADA systems are most frequently based on:
- Siemens WinCC software
- Rockwell Automation RSView32 software
- Wonderware InTouch software
Most frequently used operator panels:
- Siemens
- Allen Bradley
- ProFace
